does a huge swing
tries to dominate
misses completely
the round ball whacks
smacks
destroys the wicket
running around like a crazy maniac
cheering
shouting my throat out

rubbing your hands against your smooth uniform.
sweat pumping from your body.
Accelerating through the field,
eliminating players.
Swing my leg up,
ball ZOOMS through the air.
unsounding screams.
Time calculates 5..4...3.....2....

Shin pads
Socks
Boots
Shirt
I get my soccer ball
Im off for the game
Im at the field
10 minutes later
My coach encourages that I am a mid fielder
It is half time we are losing
The second half starts I am goalie
5 minutes
Its 8-8 with 60 seconds hanging off the clock
Opposition has a penalty if i miss they win
Shacking
Sweating
Wobbling
They take the shot
My whole team is relying on me
Flying closer
And closer
And closer
YES!
We won the cup is ours

I felt like a lion roaring along my fence.
I felt nervous and I nearly fell down.
I was going to a cricket match,
I felt shy that I was going to hide behind a tree.

5 seconds on the clock.
The roar of engines almost makes me deaf.
Shin guards scratching against my skin.
Boots squeezing my feet.
Right before the roar up, my foot thrashes the ball.
The ball.
Flies,
flutters,
wavers,
wobbles,
and then,
and then,
and then,
and then right before the deafening whistle,
it hits the cross-bar and,
bounces,
the goal-keeper,
dives,
misses,
the ball,
goes IN!!!!

Shaking there arms and legs.
Thinking about losing.

The game started.
We were rushing and huffing.
My dad says "don’t be scared".

Kids, kicks, push, and cheats.

Walking into the biggest, the largest stadium in the world
but only in my eyes.
Theres only 20 seconds on the clock until its our turn on the court.
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 as the whistle blows.
We're on the court
oh no
crossing my fingers
are we going
to win our game?
5 mins into the game
its 2 all on the score board
and another 2 mins has passed
the time has gone fast our coach says.
I finally have the ball in my hand
as I dribble it down the court
I jump
I shoot
and I SCORE...

All our hopes the red airborne missile...
lost. is back in action.
Crushed. But this time
Destroyed, it’s gonna do me a favour...
burnt down to the foundation. Win.
Until... SMACK!!
I feel a spark Zooming out of the park

It was all up to me with only two 20s on the board.
There was only 5 seconds counting down.
Everyone was silent they didn’t make one sound.
Gently the ball did one drum i caught it.
I pushed my arms up.
My coach prays,
My forehead cries,
I wobble,
Breath,
Reach,
Push,
My face was begging.
The ball goes round
and round
and round
and then....
I smile the crowd goes wild.
I got the goal the other team frowns.

I DO love your writing! Your Edwin Hoey poetry impresses me because it is full of action. I love the suspense you create by repeating lines, one example being "and then". This style of poetry is good for teaching writers that short sentences are good too, as they create suspense. Strong verbs which depict action are sometimes more powerful than a string of adjectives!
